With the October 7season premiererapidly approaching,FX Networkshas released a new trailer forAmerican Horror Story: Hotel. Although this video is only 30 seconds long, it takes us through the hallways of this bizarre hotel, giving us brief introductions to all of the main characters, includingLady Gaga, who is seen sporting an incredibly long head of hair. We don’t get too much insight into who these characters really are, but they all certainly do look intriguing.

The most recent installment, American Horror Story: Freak Show, has been nominated for a franchise-record 19 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited Series. Over its first four installments, the American Horror Story franchise has received a total of 70 Emmy Award nominations, with the first three installments earning a total of eight Emmy awards.
American Horror Story: Hotelmarks the first season that doesn’t feature starJessica Lange, who left theAmerican Horror Storyseries after starring in the first four seasons. Back in October, series creatorRyan Murphyrevealed that, although each season takes place in a completely different place and time, they are all connected, somehow. The first season was set in present-day Los Angeles, with the second set at a Massachusetts Asylum in 1964. The third season takes place in present-day New Orleans at a Coven full of witches, and last season was set at a Jupiter, Florida Freak Show.
American Horror Story: Hotelbrings the series back to Los Angeles, set at the Cortez Hotel in downtown L.A. Series creatorRyan Murphyconfirmed during the TCA Summer Tour that the story is inspired by the mysterious death ofElisa Lamat the Cecil Hotel in downtown L.A. The video ofElisa Lamfrom an elevator surveillance camera showed the woman seemingly interacting with an unseen entity. She was later found dead in the water tank on the roof of the hotel in February 2013. While we wait to learn more about these characters, check out the new trailer below.
