Last month,DC All Accessreleased its latest video, which featured concept art for the highly anticipatedBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The sneak peek showed off art for Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Now, the artist behind some of this work is showing off two of his concept art paintings forBen Affleck’s Dark Knight. The two pieces come direct fromJerad S. Marantz’sblog. This is what the artist has to say about these two pieces.
“Finally get to show these! Here are some of the images that I painted for Batman versus Superman. I was fortunate enough to spend a bit of time on all of the characters, but was lucky enough to be able to focus on Illustrating the new Batman costume with the incredible costume designer Michael Wilkinson. This was a childhood dream come true.”

Back in August, costume designer Michael G. Wilkinson said thatZack Snyderwanted a whole new look for the Dark Knight, adding that the filmmaker was heavily influenced byFrank Miller’s graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns. When it came to Superman,Zack Snyderwanted to embed aKryptonianscript into the actualKal-Elcostume. Michael G. Wilkinson wouldn’t say what the quote means, but he did tease that, “it has to do with power and the responsibility of power.” WithGal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, the costume designer confirmed a long-standing rumor about this character.
“Well, you know, Diana is immortal, so she’s been around for a long time. She does have powers that are beyond human, so when we were creating our textures, we were referring to different metals that exist, but also creating new finishes of metals that might have this supernatural power to them. Hopefully we created something that’s original and eye-catching.”

Fearing the actions of a god-like superhero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman vs Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before. Take a look at this latest concept art. We’ve also included theDC All Accesswhere this made its first appearance.
