Big Brotheris all about the drama and boy, has Season 26 brought it in spades already. Not even two weeks into the house, a huge fight broke out between two players. There was yelling and accusations flying that left all 14 other players stunned. But some argue that one player, the woman who instigated the blowout, went too far. Whether she was correct in some of her accusations or just venting because of her understandable paranoia (there’s a lot of pressure in the house), she hit below the belt repeatedly.
Die-hard fans have seen and heard terrible things being said on both the edited televised episodes and the live feeds in past seasons. Most recently, Luke Valentine was expelled from Season 25 before the first eviction, which happened when he was caught on the live feeds using a racial slur. While this Season 26 player didn’t use a racial slur or a remark that violated theBig Brothercode of conduct, her actions were reprehensible.

What Happened Between Angela and Matt in Big Brother?
It all started early in the house. Excited to be in the house and asaBig Brotherfan,Angela seemed to focus on Matt, the tall, dark, handsome young man with a chiseled jaw and fit body. She commented that he would be in a showmance in a heartbeat and continued to egg him on about it. It clearly bothered Matt, as he felt she was stereotyping him and didn’t appreciate that she was seemingly putting a target on his back from the get-go.
When her alliance members informed Angela that Matt was going around the house telling people it upset him, she sat down to have a heart-to-heart with him. She apologized for her words and advised that she meant no ill will but “has a big mouth.” He accepted her apology but didn’t leave it at that. He told her that when she was doing that, he thought she was targeting him, and if she was going to put him up, he wasn’t worried. Someone would take him down, he’d win, and he would go after her. “You’re scaring me, Matt,” she said, though he phrased it as what hewasthinking previously. Now that they had had this conversation, he was satisfied that she wasn’t targeting him, and he moved on.

Who is Ainsley the AI from Big Brother 26?
Ainsley was introduced as the mysterious 17th houseguest on Big Brother, but it turns it she wasn’t just really an AI, she’s also a TikTok influencer.
Later, however, after sleepless nights, Angela wasgetting increasingly paranoid. She didn’t appreciate that Matt didn’t hug her after nominations nor thank her for not putting him up. She watched everything going on downstairs from the monitors in her HoH room and decided he was plotting against her. She came walking down the stairs to confront him.She delivered a scathing speech about how she knew what he was up to and didn’t appreciate him threatening her. He looked stunned and confused.

But that’s where Angela took things too far. She remarked numerous times to others in the house, then to Matt’s face, that he had “crazy eyes.” She repeatedly removed her glasses to mimic how his eyes move when he talks or becomes expressive. It was a clear insult to his physical appearancethat had nothing to do with their argument and was entirely uncalled for. She then attacked his character, telling Makensy, the presumed showmance partner, that she could do much better than him, causing Makensy to tear up at the situation.
It wasn’t something Angela said in the heat of the moment; she continued to say it over and over, imitating and mocking Matt. When shementioned his mother, however, that’s where Matt got really upset. She commented that his mother would look at the show and see what a brat her son was.

Matt Isn’t Entirely Innocent in Big Brother 26
Some suggest that Matt isn’t entirely innocent and that his edit in the Thursday evening episode was generous. Those who watch the live feeds claim that Matt wasn’t well-liked in the house and rubbed many people the wrong way. He was reportedly condescending and talked down to and over people. Many say he comes across as arrogant and demanding.
He did indeed threaten to go after Angela if she went after him, but in a way that is par for the course in the game. Many people inBig Brotherseasons past have had similar conversations, some more intimidating than others. Some houseguests who were on the receiving end shook it off and rolled their eyes at the obvious attempt by the person to stay in the house. Others rallied troops to make sure the person didn’t get the chance to stay. As a superfan of the show, Angela should be well acquainted with this very corepart of the game.

However Matt may have acted outside of that moment, he kept his cool when she attacked him in front of the entire house. He hasn’t appeared to speak ill of Angela, most notably not of her physical appearance nor her family, other than to remind her that her children and grandchildren would see how she was behaving.
Big Brother 2024 Cast Guide & Season 26’s Big Twist
Big Brother 26 will feature a twist that has never been done, have a unique AI twist, and 16 exciting new cast members competing for the grand prize.
Some fans are flabbergasted that even if Angela wasn’t removed from the show, she wasn’t at least taken to the Diary Room by producers to be spoken to about her words and personal attacks. It’s possible, however, that she was. One important detail left out of the live Thursday night episode is thatAngeladidlater apologize to Matt, which was seen on the live feeds. She took accountability for publicly mocking him, admitting she should not have done that.
Still, it’s difficult not to believe that if the person on the receiving end of these insults about physical appearance was a 20-year-old woman and the aggressor was a man more than twice her age, public opinion would be very different. If an apology was aired in that instance with the roles reversed, chances are the aggressor would continue to be vilified, viewers claiming the apology was disingenuous and made only to save face. Somehow, however,Angela gets off scot-free.
Even if she said horrible things and handled the situation publicly for attention instead of privately in a more mature manner, the consensus view is that he wasn’t an angel either. But the reality is that he did not deserve to be publicly shamed in suchan embarrassing way.
What to Know About Big Brother’s Angela Murray
Angela Murray sticks out among the younger houseguests as one of only two people in the house who is in their 50s. Amother and grandmother, she purportedly works as a real estate agent in Syracuse, Utah. But fans can’t help but suspect that she might be a production plant.
First, her enraged speech to Matt seemed entirely rehearsed. She walked down the stairs and delivered a set of lines and insults that sounded like they were scripted. She may have practiced it alone in her room before emerging. But there was something that seemed downright fake about it.
20 TV Shows That Broke All the Rules
From across the globe and throughout history, here are 20 of the most controversial, boundary-pushing, and morally corrupt series ever broadcast.
It’s also possible she is an actual casted player but is there to make a name for herself and get as much screen time as possible, not just try and win the money. The reason for this suspicion is thatthis isn’t the first time Angela has been on television. She appeared with her family onHouse Calls with Dr. Philback in 2021. He visited her home to help them through a familial issue whereby her daughter had not spoken to her father or sisters in three years, even though they all lived in the same house. Two years before that, she was on bothThe Price is RightandLet’s Make a Deal. In fact, she even won $20,000 on the latter.
Even those who have played the game before think she’s a plant. Matt Turner, whocompeted on Season 24, posted on X that he believes Angela is “the best CBS plant to ever exist.”
Viewers may unearth more footage of Angela working her waythrough the realityand game show circuits as time passes. There’s something fishy about that, especially since all three aforementioned shows also air on CBS. It seems unlikely thatBig Brotherproducers would not have found these old clips as quickly as fans did or already know about her previous appearances. That’s another reason people believe she was brought in with a mandate to stir up drama.
Even If Both Sides Are Wrong, Angela Needs to Go
There’s no denying that having someone there specifically to cause conflict (and bring in ratings) makes the show more entertaining and keeps people talking about it.There was shock valuein the fight, and it kicked the season off with a bang. However, Angela could have made herself the center of the episode and started her big fight without personal attacks, particularly about someone’s physical appearance.
No one who entered the game thought the sweet grandmother from Utah would be the one to bring the heat. Even if her attitude, level of paranoia, and aggressive gameplay were a surprise, her treatment of another human being, one who is likely the same age as one of her own children, was deplorable. There are some things that aren’t worth $750,000 nor all the clout in the world, and personal dignity is one of them.
In previous cases, cast members who have said awful things in theBig Brotherhouse and weren’t expelled received a lot of backlash from viewers at home. So much so that once they were evicted, they were met with “boos” from the live audience. In a handful of cases, like Aaryn Gries from Season 15 and Jack Matthews from Season 21, host Julie Chen Moonves put them on the spot about their words and actions during their exit interviews.
WhileBig Brothermight not expel Angela since she didn’t technically violate anything in the code of conduct, there should be a conversation about it. Fans hope that when Angela is evicted, because there’s a good chance she won’t last long, Chen Moonves does right by Matt and anyone who has ever been insulted in such a crude way. They want her to encourage Angela to answer for her hurtful insults and apologize to Matt’s mother, too. As a mother herself, she should know better.WatchBig BrotheronParamount+.
