Recent biopicBlackBerryis making its way to the small screen. The biographical comedy-drama directed by Matt Johnson was released in theaters in May of this year, after competing at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival in February. But its upcoming premiere on AMC will be a little unconventional.AMChas now announced the film’s arrival on the small screen on November 13, but they will present it as a three-part limited series, airing one episode per night. Based on the book by Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff,Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry, the film focuses on the creation, popularization and fall of theBlackBerryempire within the world of telecommunications, focusing on the company’s co-founders, Douglas Fregin and Mike Lazaridis, and investor Jim Balsillie.

Matt Johnson, who in addition to starring in the film, directs it, began his career as an actor, director and screenwriter simultaneously in 2007, creating the web seriesNirvanna the Band the Show, which would be relaunched in 2016. His first feature movie came in 2014,The Dirties, in which he also starred. Johnson has always dedicated to low-budget and independent productions, but with very good acceptance by critics such as 2016’sOperation Avalanche.

Jay Baruchel, for his part, has a long history in the industry, both in film and television, participating in all types of projects. In 1995, he made his debut in the acclaimed teen horror seriesAre You Afraid of the Dark?, starring in several episodes throughout the show. Continuing to focus on younger audiences, he hosted the educational seriesPopular Mechanics for Kids. But his big break would come in the early 00s with the movieAlmost Famousand the sitcomUndeclared, where he had a leading role.

Baruchel was part of many interesting projects such asMillion Dollar Baby, or theHow to Train Your Dragonfranchise, where he voices the main character, Hiccup. In addition to starring inBlackBerry, this year he was part of thehit Netflix series FUBARalongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Glenn Howerton has excelled mainly in television alongside a few films, both of which land largely in the comedy genre. In 2002, he led the cast of the sitcomThat ’80s Show, and since 2005 he has been part of the acclaimedIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, in addition to having participated inThe Cleveland Show,Family Guy, and many more.
