This is a grittyaction-packedthriller chronicling a terrifying rescue mission in the Old West. This film will actually be the first of two Westerns forKurt Russellthis year, withThe Hateful Eighthitting theaters onChristmas Day.
Richard Jenkins,Matthew Fox,Patrick Wilson,Lili Simmons, Evan Jonigkeit,Kathryn Morris,David ArquetteandSean Younground out the stellar supporting cast ofBone Tomahawk. The film has received largely positive reviews coming out of Fantastic Fest, so we’ll have to wait and see if this Western can capitalize on its own momentum and become a dark horse Oscar candidate this year. It’s obviously too soon to tell right now, but it’s possible this could be a contender.

We’ll have to wait and see ifBone Tomahawkexpands after its opening weekend, but that all depends on how it fares at thebox office. WithKurt Russellstarring in this critically-acclaimed film, plusThe Hateful Eight, it’s possible he could help start a resurgence of Westerns, a genre that hasn’t been explored too much in recent years.
