So yes, we’re getting a couple of Supermans this year sharing the screen with one another.

According to a new report, The CW plans to use both Brandon Rough and Tyler Hoechlin in the role of Superman during the upcoming ArrowVerse crossover eventCrisis on Infinite Earths. It hasn’t yet been revealed which episodes the actors will appear in, but the news is expected to be confirmed atSan Diego Comic-Con, where the network will have a huge presence for their DC shows. This year’s event will span five nights, covering every single ArrowVerse show, includingArrow,The Flash,Supergirl,Legends of TomorrowandBatwoman, who is getting her own series this fall after Ruby Rose debuted the role on last year’sElseworldscrossover.

Brandon Routhalready plays the role of Ray Palmer, aka The Atom onLegends of Tomorrow. It’s expected that he will play both The Atom and Superman in the crossover. Routh originally landed the coveted role of Superman in director Bryan Singer’s 2006 movieSuperman Returns. It was eyed as the first entry in a new era for the franchise. Unfortunately, the movie was met with something of a lukewarm response from both critics and moviegoers.Superman Returnswas also not a hit at the box office. It grossed a decent $391 million worldwide, but weighed against its reportedly massive $270 million production budget, it was a loss for the studio and Warner Bros. eventually rebooted the series with Zack Snyder’sMan of Steel.

Crisis on Infinite Earthsis one of themost famous events in the history of DC Comics. Published in 1985, the event was cooked up by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez. He wishes to wipe out all life across the multiverse and, on his quest, does battle with many of DC’s most famous heroes. Superman, Batman, The Flash and Supergirl, amongst others, all join in on the fight. The event is notable for the deaths of both Barry Allen and Supergirl.
