Brett Gelmanis singing the praises of his youngerStranger Thingscostars. The critically acclaimed Netflix series premiered in 2016 and combined veteran actors like Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Matthew Modine, with younger costars including Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. The hit series has given a spotlight to its younger cast, and in conversation withPeople, Gelman opened up about working with the likes of Brown, Sadie Sink, McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Schnapp and Matarazzo:
“I didn’t work with a lot of them directly, but I got to spend time with them a lot. I was fortunate enough to work with them a bit, especially last season, around the dinner table and stuff like that. I mean, they’re really impressive people who I learned from.” He adds: “They just are true professionals and artists and really have taken their roles in the show and their roles outside of the show very seriously — not just as actors, but as people that the youth look up to.”

Gelman also took time to commend Schnapp individually. The 18-year-old actor who has portrayed Will Byers during the show’s run, recently came out as gay.
“I’m really proud of him. I’m very happy for him that he came out. I mean, that’s amazing and that’s incredible for LGBTQ+ kids to see. That’s a huge gift to people being able to know that they should be who they are,” Gelman told People.
Gelman is not the onlyStranger Thingsadult cast member that has discussed working alongside the young, talented cast. Modine, who has portrayed villain Dr. Martin Brenner throughout multiple season of the series, told The Times last year that he has spoken with his younger castmates in hopes of helping them understand the “rollercoaster” that comes with a career in entertainment.
