Avengers: Age of Ultrononly had a passing mention of The Winter Soldier, whenAnthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson tellsChris Evans' Steve Rogers that the search is still on. That search will continue inCaptain America: Civil War, and today we get a first look at Bucky Barnes' return, courtesy of actorSebastian Stan. Though we don’t get to see his face, we do get to see that Barnes is still wearing the black baseball cap we last left him in.
Shooting has begun onCaptain America: Civil Warat Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. This third installment of the popular Super Hero franchise will go on in Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland. The adventure picks up whereAvengers: Age of Ultronleft off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
It is not yet known exactly how Bucky Barnes will play into the events seen on screen, since they will be altered from the original comic book upon which they are based. In the comics, Bucky teams up with Nick Fury to free an imprisoned Steve Rogers. As there will be plenty of things going on in this epic blockbuster, it isn’t known if Sam Wilson is still hunting for and finds Barnes, or if the Winter Soldier comes forward on his own.
