We shouldn’t have to worry about whether or notCaptain America: Civil Waris a good movie anymore.Marvelhas begun test screening the first Phase 3 adventure, and reactions have been through the roof. It is said to have received the best scores out of anyMarvel movieto date. Though, there is some debate on whether or not it is getting the same or better reactions than previous sequelCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, which, up until now, has had the highest scoring test screenings for a Marvel movie.
Captain America: Civil Waris currently undergoing reboots as we speak. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the movie, asMarvel and Disneyhave made it customary to schedule in time for shooting additional scenes and various tweaks. If the recent test screenings are any indication, not much will change, because audiences are madly in love with this grittier take on theMarvel Cinematic Universe. Most of the reshoots will consist of additional photography.
BirthMoviesDeathfirst reported on the test screenings. They have talked to five different sources about the various advanced screenings, all of which have tested exceptionally well. Perhaps beyond even Marvel and Disney’s expectations. These sources, who have seen the mostly finished movie, claim that Marvel isn’t pulling any punches this time around.
The third act ofCaptain America: Civil Waris said to be devastating, and will bring plenty of change asPhase 3continues on into the future. While it has been rumored that some Marvel and Disney execs were worried about the sequel going down a darker path, these test screenings have proven that this is what needed to happen with the MCU. The test screenings have certainly alleviated most of those fears.
If the test screenings are accurate,Captain America: Civil Warwill at least be as good asCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, which some consider the best Marvel movie yet. Marketing on the movie is suspected to hit overdrive in the next two months, though it isn’t know if the movie will have much of a presence at this year’s Super Bowl 50.
