Chris Hemsworth’s Future as Thor

By the timeAvengers: Secret Warscomes out in December 2027, it will have been 18 years since Hemsworth was first cast to playThorand 16 years since the release of his first film. Rumors have circulated that Hemsworth intends to step down from the role of Thor after the upcomingAvengersfilms, looking to focus on spending more time with his family and pursuing other acting options. Hemsworth is already confirmed to appear inAvengers: Doomsday, which will also feature Tom Hiddleston as Loki, possibly reuniting the two brothers on screen one last time and giving them an epic final bow.

If Hemsworth were to conclude his run on Thor withAvengers: Secret Wars, that would be an incredible run as he would have played the God of Thunder in ten films and multiple guest voice-over appearances inWhat If…?. However, that would mean Thor 5 was off the table, leaving theHercules tease at the end ofLove and Thunderunresolved.
