Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance as Wilson Fisk helped the character to become one of the greatest villains in Marvel television history during his tenure onDaredevil. Now, he’s back at it again, this time in the MCU inDaredevil: Born Again(premiering March 4 on Disney+), and the actor says the character’s arc is “bigger and crazier” than before. Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, was a very sly crime boss in the originalDaredevilseries, which starred Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. But inBorn Again, he has a lofty new goal: becoming the mayor of New York City.
Speaking toEntertainment Weekly, Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox said fans should expect the unexpected with Wilson Fisk when we sit down to watchDaredevil: Born Againthis March.“Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that’s even bigger and crazier,“D’Onofrio began.“For Fisk, this journey is a path to more control.“Fisk’s rise to power through New York City’s electoal system was teased at the end of 2024’sEcho, which also saw Charlie Cox make a brief cameo as Daredevil.

Thenewest trailer forDaredevil: Born Againopens with a tense moment between Fisk and Matt Murdock, as the pair have an intense conversation at a diner.“I believe you have to be really careful when and how you bring these two people into the same room,“Cox said, continuing, “because we have to feel like when they meet, it is an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.” With three seasons of bad blood between them, Cox said the scenes involving Fisk and Murdock had to be carefully calculated by the writing staff. He explained:
“There’s actually an episode later on in the season where in an original draft we had a conversation, and I brought this up. I said, ‘I worry that if you tell the story that we can have a conversation and walk away from it at this stage, we lose a lot of stakes.’ So they found a really cool way to not have us do that.”

Karen and Foggy Are the “Heartbeat” of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
The new trailer also gave fans a much better look at Matt Murdock’s partners in crime (fighting),Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, played by Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, respectively. In the interview, Cox explained why Karen and Foggy are so essential to the series.“I think of Karen and Foggy as being the heartbeat ofDaredevil,“he began. “Without them, nothing that Matt does really has any emotional impact. The humanity and vulnerability that they brought to those characters allows me as Matt to really delve into the darkness.”
