Last night,DC Comicsfans got a special glimpse at the new seriesDC’s Legends of Tomorrowwith a half-hour special that debuted just after the midseason premiere ofThe Flash. While we get ready for the show to debut tomorrow,The CW Networkhas released two new trailers and a preview for the series premiere, airing Thursday, January 21 at 8 PM ET on The CW. This footage features this unique collections of heroes, villains and misfits joining forces as a team of time-travelling legends, as they go back to the 1970s.
InDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, when heroes alone are not enough, the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogueRip Hunteris tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - one in which not only the planet is at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? We see in this preview that this group was brought together to stop Vandal Savage, who is in danger of taking over the whole world in the year 2166, the year Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) comes from.

The show’s main villain is Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), who fans first saw in theArrowandThe Flashcrossover event that aired earlier this month on The CW. Other new characters who will debut on the show includeStephanie Corneliussenas theDC Comicscharacter Valentina Vostok, a.k.a. Negative Woman, and another report from October revealed that the show is casting for Connor Hawke. In theArrowcomic books, Connor Hawke is Oliver Queen’s son, although that aspect of the comics will be discarded for the TV version.
The series is executive produced byGreg Berlanti,Marc Guggenheim,Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer and Wendy Mericle, who all work on the network’sArrowandThe Flashas well.
