This weekend finally seesDeadpooldropping to third place on thebox officecharts after spending the past three weeks at #1. It is the biggest movie of 2016 thus far, and has broken plenty of records on its way to $628.2 million worldwide. It is nothing short of anR-ratedphenomenon. And it is only second behindStar Wars: The Force Awakensin terms of this year’s most highly anticipated home releases. Earlier this week we learned thatStar Wars 7is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on April 1. Now, we might now whenDeadpoolwill follow.
It was announced last month thatDeadpool, which is already available for pre-order, is coming home this Spring. But an official date wasn’t given. Today,Amazonlists May 20 as the release date. Which is still more than two months away. The only problem with this release date is that it is only listed onAmazon’s India home page. The U.S. pre-order still has not updated it’s release date. Also, this India pre-order says ‘around’ May 20. At any rate, this is a pretty good indication as to when you’ll be able to get your hands on a copy.

Right now, the Blu-ray/Digital HD version retails for $22.99, with the DVD being sold for $19.99. None of the special features have been announced, but we can expect to see a gag reel and some deleted scenes. And this release may do a line-o-rama style featurette, as we know a lot of dirty dialogue got cut for being way too raunchy, even for an R Rated movie. We’ll probably get all of theviral videosthat have been released over the past two years as well. But this is all speculative at this point. Maybe we’ll even get a sneak peek atDeadpool 2?
20th Century Fox green litDeadpool 2beforeDeadpooleven opened to such stellar box office numbers.
