‘When your worst enemy is after your best girl, it’s time to be a superhero!’ A newDeadpoolTV spot aired last night during the premiere ofThe Bachelor, and it blatantly baits fans who are looking for a love story this Valentine’s Day, as opposed to a superhero epic featuring young, tone men in tights. Holding a rose tightly in his crotch, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) made this plea to all those lovers out there whose boyfriend is making this movie sound even more action-packed than it really is.

“Well, Hello. You’re probably thinking, ‘My boyfriend said this was a superhero movie.’ This is actually, lucky you, a love story.”

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Wade Wilson’s girlfriend Vanessa Carlyle (Morena Baccarin) proves she’s no simple damsel in distress in this latest TV spot. In fact, it looks like she’ll have no problem holding her own against main bad guy Ajax if the Merc with the Mouth doesn’t come through and save the day. Along with this new TV spot, we also got three new photos over the weekend, which showed Vanessa in danger. Of course, all true believers know that Ms. Carlyle will eventually become the ant-hero known as CopyCat.
