Jason Lei Howden has announced over social media that the Kickstarter campaign forDeathgasm 2: Goremageddonhas been a success. It will be a sequel to the writer/director’s first feature film. A 2015 cult classic calledDeathgasm, the plot of the film follows a band of the same name consisting of Brodie (Milo Cawthorne), Zakk (James Blake), Dion (Sam Berkley), And Giles (Daniel Cresswell). After Deathgasm plays the Black Hymn, an army of demons descends upon the town, leaving it up to them and Brodie’s crush Medina (Kimberley Crossman) to stop them. They do so, butSPOILER ALERTat the cost of the lives of Zakk and Dion.
From the synopsis, we’ve been able to learn thatDeathgasm 2will be one of those sequelsthat overrides the happy endingof the previous film to make way for a new plot. Brodie and Medina have broken up and to add salt to the wound, Medina starts dating the lead singer of a lockal Emo-Core band that’s Brodie’s competition in a battle-of-the-bands called ‘Metal Quest.’ After finding new bandmates proves difficult, Brodie raises Zakk and Dion from the dead, but with a new hunger for human flesh.

A combination of being a zombie and Zakk’s teasing over his nerdiness drives Dion over the edge. After stealing the resurrection spell from the first movie, Dion raises an undead army and declares himself King of the Dead. Meaning Brodie and Undead Zakk will have to stop the army before they reach Metal Quest and prevent there opportunity to secure a record deal. And, more importantly, thawt Brodie’s chances of getting back together with Melanie.
