Lakeith Stanfield in Sorry to Bother You, Annapurna Pictures

Theanti-capitalist story ofI Love Boostersis characteristic of the communist activist’s debut film,Sorry to Bother You.Starring LaKeith Stanfield and Tessa Thompson, the wonderfully warped sci-fi comedy focused on a telemarketer rising through the ranks by pandering to his wealthy, white consumer base only to find an odd and frightening world at the top. As Stanfield’s character gains success, he begins to be confronted by his friends and colleagues, with Steven Yeun playing one of the telemarketers, about how much the job has changed him as they continue their fight for better workers' rights. Also, there are half-horse, half-human hybrids. If the wild yet poignant story ofSorry to Bother Youis any indication of what’s to come in Riley’s next film, then audiences are in for a treat.
