This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 5 & 6.
Daredevil: Born Againjust broke from convention and dropped two new episodes on Disney+. While previous live-action MCU series have had two episode premieres, includingDaredevil: Born Again, and some, likeAgatha All Along, aired two-episode finales, none have aired two episodes back to back in the middle of the run.The fifth episode hinted at a potential MCU team-up that nobody could have expected: Daredevil and Ms. Marvel.

Daredevil is no stranger to teaming up with other heroes, as Matt Murdock previously joined Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist inThe Defenders, and this season ofDaredevil: Born Againhas already shown Matt Murdock reuniting with Frank Castle / The Punisher. Fans even hope to see Daredevil and Spider-Man share the screen after their alter egos were seen together inSpider-Man: No Way Home. Matt Murdock even appeared inShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he got romantically involved with the hero.Yet, of all the MCU heroes, Ms. Marvel seemed like the least likely candidate for a Daredevil team-up. It also might be another in a long line of teases centered on the Young Avengers.
Daredevil: Born Again
Ms. Marvel Doesn’t Appear in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ But Her Presence Is Felt
Daredevil: Born Againestablishes a link between Daredevil and Ms. Marvel not by having the two heroes meet but through an intermediate: Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), the father of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel. Yusuf is the assistant manager of the bank that Matt Murdock visits, the one that gets robbed in the episode and puts Matt, Yusuf, and the rest of the bank customers in a hostage situation. Matt Murdock is able to save everyone without suiting up as Daredevil, so Yusaf has no idea about Matt’s alter ego. However, at the end of the episode, to say thank you for his help, Yusuf invites Matt Murdock over to New Jersey to have dinner with him and his family, including his daughter Kamala, whom he has told Matt Murdock so much about.
Earlier in the episode, Yusuf is bragging about New Jersey having their own superhero, Ms. Marvel. Yet Matt Murdock has never heard of her. Ms. Marvel is seemingly popular enough within the world of the MCU to have her own custom Funko Pop! figure that Yusuf proudly displays on his work desk, despite not being able to reveal it to his daughter. Yusuf does manage to sneak in a reference to his daughter Kamala, who texts him at work. She is in California “visiting friends” for spring break, given thatthe episode takes place on June 06, 2025, aka Saint Patrick’s Day (for anyone curious, that would be on a Wednesday in the viewer’s reality).

Matt Murdock has an open invitation to dinner, which leads to the possibility of Matt Murdock meeting Kamala Khan and likely discovering her secret identity as Ms. Marvel. However, the fact that Kamala Khan is in California duringDaredevil: Born Againmight be another in a long line of teases for The Young Avengers.
Is Ms. Marvel Recruiting The Young Avengers?
There is a good chance that Kamala Khan is actually in California visiting friends while on spring break. As seen at the end of Ms. Marvel, her friend Bruno was taking off to attend school at Caltech in Pasadena, California. However, the end ofThe Marvelsteased that Kamala Khan was beginning to recruit young superheroes to form her own team, which is obviouslythe MCU’s Young Avengers.
When Kamala Khan meets Kate Bishop / Hawkeye at the end ofThe Marvels, she references Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie Lang. Cassie Lang resides in San Francisco with her family. Given that tease at the end ofThe Marvels,it is entirely possible Kamala is in California recruiting Cassie Lang and visiting her friend Bruno(though she had better be prepared for a day of her spring break to be spent in a car since that is a six-hour drive between Pasadena and San Francisco).Daredevil: Born AgainEpisode 5 would occur one year afterThe Marvels(2026) and about a year and a half since Ms. Marvel emerged on the scene in New Jersey (Fall 2025).

Ever since The Multiverse Saga began, Marvel has seemingly been teasing The Young Avengers forming. From Billy and Tommy Maximoff inWandaVision,Eli Bradley inThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Kid Loki in Loki, Kate Bishop inHawkeye, America Chavez inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Riri Williams inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever, a grown-up Billy/William Kaplan/Wiccan inAgatha All Alongand Ms. Marvel herself, the MCU is filling up with young heroes.
10 MCU Characters Who Might Show Up in Tom Holland’s Fourth ‘Spider-Man’ Movie
Here are the ten MCU characters that seem most likely to appear in Tom Holland’s upcoming Spider-Man 4.
Despite four years of teases, Marvel Studios has yet to announce a Young Avengers project officially, be it a feature film or a Disney+ series. The tease at the end ofThe Marvelswas the closest thing fans have gotten to the actual confirmation that it is happening, but given that the film was Marvel Studios' first official box office flop, it has left the status of the project in a state of limbo.

There are hopes that The Young Avengers will maybe assemble inAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Warsbefore maybe leading into their own spin-off project following the Multiverse Saga conclusion, but that is wishful thinking at the moment. That is why Kamala Khan’s California trip can be a potential Young Avengers tease or a simple callback to her friend Bruno, because either is possible.
Ms. Marvel and Daredevil Team-up Now on the Table
While fans eagerly await The Young Avengers,Daredevil: Born Again’s Ms. Marvel teases at least leaves the door open for Ms. Marvel to return. There is no doubt that Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani is one of the best casting decisions in the MCU’s history and should be one of the key characters being put front and center in the franchise. Any chance to do more with Vellani and Ms. Marvel should be embraced, and possibly having her show up inDaredevil: Born AgainSeason 2 might be the best call.
On the surface, Ms. Marvel’s bright optimism might clash with the more mature tone ofDaredevil: Born Again. Yet the fun of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is putting these characters in stories with different tones, allowing creators to flesh them out and show them in a new context. Not only would it be fascinating to put Ms. Marvel in a more grounded, mature story following the cosmic set and lightheartedThe Marvels, but she is also the perfect type of character for Matt Murdock to bounce off of. So far,Daredevil: Born Againhas put Matt at a low point in his life, where he has only just now put on his Daredevil costume after nearly a year of being retired. Ms. Marvel’s optimism might be exactly what Daredevil needs to remind him why he fights.

How Does The Punisher Fit Into the MCU Timeline?
Jon Bernthal finally made his long-awaited return to the MCU in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, here is everything to know about The Punisher.
Ms. Marvel also provides a new context for how Daredevil can view himself.Daredevil: Born Againand many of the Defenders Saga series tend to avoid the label “superhero,” with characters like Daredevil orWhite Tiger labeled vigilantesby the general public. It is certainly an interesting discussion to explore what separates someone like Daredevil from the public mind from, say, Sam Wilson’s Captain America or Carol Danvers' Captain Marvel.
Ms. Marvel might be the first other Marvel character to view Daredevil as a fellow superhero, something he might not even consider himself. InShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law,Matt Murdock helped show Jennifer Waltersthat her superpowered alter-ego, She-Hulk, could be used for good. InDaredevil: Born Again, Ms. Marvel could be the character that reminds Matt that he is more than a vigilante. This wouldn’t just be a crossover for the sake of having two characters meet, but one that could be instrumental for both characters.
IfDaredevil: Born Againfollows the trajectory of the comics, New York City likely won’t be a safe place for superheroes and vigilantes under Mayor Wilson Fisk. Daredevil might need to hide out in New Jersey, setting the stage for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen to meet the Hero of Jersey City.WithDaredevil: Born AgainSeason 2expected to air beforeAvengers: Doomsday, a Ms. Marvel team-up might be a great way to put the character back into the spotlight before the epic MCU teamup film.Daredevil: Born Againis streaming onDisney+.
