IfElizabeth Hurleygets her way, she will soon be starring in another movie withBrendan Fraser. More than two decades ago, Hurley and Fraser co-starred in the 2000 rom-comBedazzled.Directed by the late Harold Ramis, the film follows Fraser as a man approached by the Devil (Hurley) and offered seven wishes in exchange for his soul. In October,Hurley and Fraser reunitedat a screening ofThe Whale, posing for pictures to the delight of fans of the movie.

Hurley has spoken more about the reunion along withThe Whalein a new interview withPeopleto promote her next movie,Christmas in the Caribbean. She spoke about how thrilled she was to see him again at the screening, and thinking back upon the time she spent with the actor working onBedazzled, Hurley finds herself eager to team back up with Fraser for another project. As Hurley explains:

“I would love to work with Brendan again. He was one of my favorite co-stars. Brendan and I got on so fantastically when we shotBedazzledand then didn’t speak. We didn’t speak at all until I got invited to this screening ofThe Whale. And I was so excited that I’d see Brendan again.”

Elizabeth Hurley Says Brendan Fraser Is Fabulous in The Whale

Hurley was looking forward to seeingThe Whaleas someone who’s also a “big fan” of director Darren Aronofsky in addition to enjoying Fraser and his work. Having now seen the film, she praises Fraser’s performance, commenting on how “fabulous” he is with his role. As for the Oscar buzz and general praise that Fraser is generating with the film, Hurley couldn’t be happier for him, recognizing that he deserves the good things that are happening to him.

“I just was so bowled over by how fabulous he is in this movie. And Brendan is one of the nicest human beings you could ever meet and I’m just so happy for him that he’s just had this opportunity to shine again. And it was wonderful meeting up with him. It’s been 20 years since I tortured him inBedazzled.I loved [The Whale] and I love him.”

Directed by Aronofsky,The Whalestars Fraser as a 600-pound recluse named Charlie who abandoned his family years prior to pursue a relationship with his now-deceased gay lover. With his health declining rapidly, Charlie is desperate to reconnect with his teenage daughter (Sadie Sink,Stranger Things) before it’s too late.
