However, what began as a mere heist job evolves into a globe-trotting adventure that solves one of the world’s greatest mysteries. While not the best video game adaptation,Unchartedis a highly entertaining film that can be enjoyed as a regular popcorn flick.It will be available on Max beginning Jan. 15.
‘Warcraft’ (2016)
Warcraftis a film that should have spawned an epic franchise spanning at least a trilogy, but unfortunately, that did not happen. Nonetheless, the 2016 fantasy film is an enjoyable video game adaptation, even though it took 10 years to make.Warcrafthas received both critical and commercial acclaim, earning a 76% Rotten Tomatoes rating from audiences and $440 million on a $160 million budget. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:
Looking to escape from his dying world, the orc shaman Gul’dan utilizes dark magic to open a portal to the human realm of Azeroth. Supported by the fierce fighter Blackhand, Gul’dan organizes the orc clans into a conquering army called the Horde. Uniting to protect Azeroth from these hulking invaders are King Llane, the mighty warrior Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel) and the powerful wizard Medivh. As the two races collide, leaders from each side start to question if war is the only answer.
