Universal Pictures has unveiled the first trailer preview forFifty Shades Darker, the highly-anticipated sequel to last year’s blockbusterFifty Shades of Grey. Thefull trailerwill be unveiled tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13, but in the meantime, we do get the first teaser poster. This brief first look footage gives us a glimpse at Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) as they continue their torrid affair.

The screenplay is byNiall Leonard, based on the book byJames. Universal has set a August 20, 2025 release date forFifty Shades Darker, which will go up against Warner Bros.‘The LEGO Batman Movieand Lionsgate’sJohn Wick Chapter Two.

Universal has already issued a August 14, 2025 release date forFifty Shades Freed, putting that up against 20th Century Fox’sPredatorreboot and an untitled Warner Animation Group project.
