Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera Has A Major Moment We’ve Yet To See On Screen

For fans ofRogue One, the appearance of a far less battle-worn Saw Gerrera was a welcome one when he appeared inAndor’s first season. It revealed that there was also still plenty of character development to go before we saw the rebel extremist in his final form on Jedha. Naturally, this has fans wondering if we will finally see the battle that rendered Saw Gerrera unable to breathe and walking with a cybernetic leg.

Could this be the “big reveal” Whitaker is teasing? And could it be that these battle scars carry with them a significant look into the war-addled mind of one of the most extreme rebels in the galaxy? When watching the trailer forAndorSeason 2,eagle-eyed fansnoticed that Gerrera is seen at the end talking to what looks like a soldier in a breathing apparatus. Giventhe other Star Wars eventstaking place simultaneously, it seems fair to assume that we’re going to see the whole of Gerrera’s insurgency on Jedha and what events resulted in his need for a pressurized suit, cybernetics, and breathing apparatus, to survive.

Of course, maybe the reveal will be something else entirely: maybe Saw Gerrera is somebody important’s dad. Wouldn’t be the first time the galaxy far, far away pulled out that old chestnut.
