Who is better as The Flash? Ezra Miller or Grant Gustin? A new fan video offers an answer. The debates about which actor has delivered a better version of a superhero on the big or small screen is something common on social media. Now thatSuperman: Legacyis introducing a new version of the Man of Steel, withThe Brave and the Bolddoing the same with Batman, fans never miss the chance of expressing who their favorite choices are for the roles, or who has been the best portrayer of the heroes in the past. But when it comes to The Scarlet Speedster, the debate may already be over after the enormous failure of Andy Muschietti’sThe Flash.
For years, DC fans askedfor Grant Gustin to play the roleof Barry Allen not only on the acclaimed Arrowverse series, but also in the cinematic universe of the franchise, before Ezra Miller was cast (and even afterward). When conflicts surrounding the star of the recently released film exploded, the demands for Gustin to remain as the definitive version of the character resurfaced, with many fans convinced that no one would play Barry better than the formerGleealum.

Now,TikTok user flow.vfxxhas published a video with both Miller and Gustin’s versions of the hero facing each other, with the latter claiming that the other will never be as fast as him:
The future of Miller within the franchise still remains uncertain, but considering the terrible performance thatThe Flashhas had at the box office, it would be very surprising should Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios keep the actor as the official version of the superhero. However, seeing Gustin as Barry Allen within the new DCUseems very unlikely too, even when the actor hasexpressed his desire of reprising the rolein the future.

The Flash Series Legacy Will Be Difficult to Overcome
After years in the making and going through several conflicts such as constantly changing directors, the different administrations within Warner Bros. Discovery, and everything that happened with Ezra Miller, the failure ofThe Flashis not such a big shock. However, even if the movie had performed at least a little better, it would have been very difficult for it to surpass the popularity ofThe FlashTV show.
Debuting in 2014, two years after the release ofArrow, the series instantly became a hit, even overshadowing the Arrowverse’s original show. Gustin’s portrayal of Barry Allen was highly praised by fans, and the enormous gallery of DC Comics villains that appeared on the show, along with the amazing chemistry between all the members of the Team Flash, were the elements that helped the project become one of The CW’s most popular shows.
And even when some seasons of the show were heavily criticized for not maintaining the essence of the first installments,The Flashremains as the only Arrowverse show that survived the various crises of the franchise and the many cancelations that the network executed over the last couple of years, being the only one to reach the nine seasons, ending earlier this year.
