James Gunnhas officially seenAvengers: Infinity War. While it may not come as a surprise, theGuardians of the Galaxydirector took to Twitter to share his brief thoughts on the movie and he absolutely loved it. Aside from directing theGuardiansmovies for Marvel Studios, Gunn also serves as an executive producer onInfinity War, so it’s not as though his praise should come as a shock. But still, having someone share a seemingly genuine reaction to what is easily the biggest movie event of the year is exciting on its own.

This is actually the first reaction we’ve seen toAvengers: Infinity Warso far online. So, even though it’s someone who is close to Marvel and is involved in the production, it’s still significant. James Gunn decided not to say all that much about it, as he surely doesn’t want to give anything away for fans, but his brief tweet was nothing but positivity. Though, he doesn’t mention hisGuardians of the Galaxyin the slighest. Here’s what he had to say about it.

“Avengers Infinity War is INCREDIBLE. Wow!!!! And that’s all I’ll say for the time being. #Avengers #AvengersInfinityWar #InfinityWar”

So, even though James Gunn is certainly not going tocome out and say anything negativeabout a movie he’s a producer on that comes from a studio he works directly with, that’s no doubt good to hear for a great many Marvel fans. Not only that, but Gunn seems like the kind of guy who, if he didn’t have something nice to say, he just wouldn’t say anything at all. Marvel probably didn’t ask him to tweet that out. If anything, he would have had to clear it through Marvel before posting it. Point being, even if this positivity isn’t surprising, it’s probably genuine.

But what else does this mean for those who are excited forInfinity War? It means that, even if it’s not a totally finished cut, a complete cut of the movie does exist. There may still be some fine tuning to do, but after years of buildup, this movie is finally, very nearlyready to be unleashed on the world. It also means that we could be hearing some more reactions to the movie soon, since James Gunn has seen it. Surely, that means others have too. Not that this epic event needs any more hype behind it at this point, but why not throw some more fuel on the fire?

Marvel had originally planned to releaseAvengers: Infinity War, which comes from directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (Captain America: Civil War) on May 4, but they recently bumped up the release to April 27.
