A sequel to one of Adam Sandler’s most beloved comedies,Happy Gilmore, is now in the works according to Sandler’s co-starChristopher McDonald. In a recent interview withCleveland’s 92.3 The Fan on Friday, McDonald revealed that Sandler recently showed him the first draft ofHappy Gilmore 2, and it will no doubt have fans so excited they’ll be doing the bull dance and feeling the flow.

“I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says to me, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this.’ I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘How ’bout that,’ [and] he shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2.'
Maybe you should cut that out (of this audio) because I don’t wanna be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be awesome.’ So, it’s in the works. Fans demand it, dammit.”

Since making the exciting revelation about the sports comedy sequel, McDonald has doubled down by taking to Twitter/X to share the news.
Additionally,Deadlinereported sources as saying that the sequel will be part of Sandler’s current deal with Netflix and will be made specifically for the streaming platform, but noted that neither Netflix or Sandler himself had been available for comment.

Sandler has revealed his ideas for a Happy Gilmore sequel before, saying in 2022 that it could follow the golfer after all these years who is now on his senior tour.

“Wouldn’t that be fun to do the senior tour of Happy Gilmore, and hang out with all those guys and try to write a great script about Happy as an older guy, and having to calm down his temper and all that stuff? But, I never know. Maybe one day, something like that.”
