Whether it’s wide shots of King’s Landing and Dragonstone or getting up close and personal with the many dragons featured in the series, the work done by the VFX artists has been tremendous.

However, during the first season’s third episode, some eagle-eyed fans noticed something strange going on with King Viserys, played by Paddy Considine, in one particular scene. The Kind hands a letter to a soldier; if you look close enough, you can see his fourth and fifth fingers are green. It’s assumed that the post-production team was meant to replace his fingers with a digitally altered look, however, someone missed that memo after filming the scene. According to reports fromVariety, HBO plans to fix the mistake and update the episode on HBO Max. However, aTwitter usercaptured the moment before the correction, sharing the screenshot with fans.

Fans ofHouse of the Dragonwill remember King Viserys has cuts on his body from the Iron Throne, and by the second episode, he has sliced his finger open, using maggots to heal his wound. It’s presumed we were intended to see the results of these accidents in episode 3, but this particular scene showed a far more practical shot.

Last month,House of the Dragonshowrunner Ryan Condalclaimed the crew hunted down Starbucks cups on set. “[It was] a very heavily policed set — there was lots of Starbucks-hunting going on.” However, they didn’t plan on hunting green screen fingers. Nevertheless, the VFX glitch found inHouse of the Dragonwas a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, and should be no indication of the quality of the CGI and the artists involved with the series.
