After the more than decent box office performance ofThe Ballad of Songbirdsand Snakes,Tom Blyth teases his future as Coriolanus Snowin the world ofThe Hunger Games. While there has been no official announcement of any additional project related to the character or the franchise, speaking withScreenRant, the young actor confessed that he would be honored to play this complex and interesting character again:
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’d be a no-brainer. I feel like I was so fortunate to get to step into that world, and I really love everyone involved: Francis Lawrence, Nina Jacobson, and Suzanne Collins. But it would be really cool to keep digging into that story, and I do think fans feel this too. I think they were very excited to reignite the world, and I think people feel like within that reigniting, there’s more to do. There are more stories to delve into.

Other successfulliterary sagas such asHarry Potter,Twilightor evenThe Chronicles of Narniaare currently developing new versions of their storiesto bring to streaming, just asPercy Jacksonrecently did with a new adaptation in the form of a series that broke records on Disney+ and will soon premiere its second season. However, the saga written by Suzanne Collins, which had a very successful run in theaters during the last decade, took a very different path from that of its competitors.
The author surprised fans in 2020 with the release of a prequel novel focused on one of the most controversial characters in her universe, Coriolanus Snow, who was president and tyrant of the fictional country of Panem where the heroine of the story, Katniss Everdeen, lived. Throughout the three original books, readers learn all the details of her life and her confrontation with Snow through Everdeen’s eyes. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, however, takes place more than 60 years before Katniss, and focuses on a young Snow, a dedicated student who wants to bring back honor and fortune to his family by excelling in school. When he is chosen to help one of the Tributes during the celebration of the 10th Hunger Games, Snow will do everything possible to win and achieve his goals.

Why a Hunger Games TV Series Could Explore the Story Better Than the Films
The Hunger Games films adapt plenty of the novel trilogy’s storylines well. But, what could a TV show do better?
The book, like the movie, ends by showing a Coriolanus willing to do anything to climb positions and accumulate power in the Capitol, no matter who he has to eliminate on his path to greatness. But the story is still years away from the original trilogy, so there are surely many more adventures to tell. Blyth certainly thinks so…

“I do think there’s more to Coriolanus’ story to delve into, whether he’s the lead character or whether he’s a periphery character and we look at someone else’s story. But I think it’d be fascinating to see his continued rise to power and what happens along the way.”
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Despite the great success of both the book and the film, a second part of Snow’s individual story seems unlikely, even though both Blyth and the saga’s director, Francis Lawrence, seem willing to return to the universeofThe Hunger Games. Unfortunately, Lawrence has said that, without a Collins book as a guide, he is not willing to bring more stories within the franchise to the screen.
For now, the author has not shown intentions of releasing another novel, but she could surprise fans in the future as she did withThe Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Furthermore, given the good performance that these stories have always had, it would not be a surprise if Lionsgate decided to develop a spin-off, with or without a book. Fans have asked to know the details of the lives of other characters, such as Haymitch Abernathy or Finnick Oddair, who were also Tributes in different editions ofTheHunger Games, so there are many stories available to expand the franchise.
