When fans pick up Pixar’s latestbox officehitInside Outon Blu-ray and DVD November 3, they will also get a special treat, a new short film entitledInside Out: Riley’s First Date. During this morning’s episode ofGood Morning America, Pixar gave fans their first look with a clip and two photos from this short, which brings back voice actors Kaitlyn Dias as Riley,Diane Laneas Riley’s mom andKyle MacLachlanas Riley’s dad. The emotions Joy (Amy Poehler), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) are also featured in this clip.

Thisshort filmtakes place one year afterInside Out, where Riley, now 12 years old, is set to go on her first date. This news comes as quite a shock to her parents, who attempt to process this news through their own emotions. We check in on Riley’s emotions when her mother “casually” tries to find out more about this new boy in her life, Jordan (Ben Cox), although Joy, Disgust and Sadness are just confused by the mother’s behavior. It isn’t known yet who wrote and directed this short film, but we’ll surely find out more as we get closer to the Blu-ray and DVD release date.

Inside Outis set in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, where five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice ofAmy Poehler), whose mission is to ensure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice ofBill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice ofLewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice ofMindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned-both physically and socially. Sadness (voice ofPhyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.

When Riley’s family relocates to a scary new city, the Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind-taking some of her core memories with them-Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places-Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions-in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

Inside Outhas taken in a whopping $336.4 million at the domestic box office, and $636.5 million worldwide, from a $175 million budget. This animated comedy adventure will surely be a big hit during the Christmas shopping season, for fans young and old alike.
