Earlier this week, we got the firstGhostbusters: Afterlife trailer. Now, theGhostbusters: Afterlifeinternational trailer arrives featuring brand-new footage not seen in the original sneak peak. In the latest preview, we see McKenna Grace testing out her grandfather’s old proton pack in a field. Jason Reitman has crafted a movie that is heavily connected to the iconic first two installments of theGhostbustersfranchise and he is attempting to do something new with it. As evidenced by the trailers, the director has included a lot of familiar elements to kick off this latest adventure for a younger generation.
TheGhostbusters: Afterlifeinternational trailer is largely made up from the North American version. However, the ending is much different as it features McKenna Grace’s Phoebe character with a friend as she tries out her grandfather’s proton pack. Both children are stunned by what the pack can do, with Phoebe’s friend wearing some old school Ecto Goggles. The CGI looks very much like the first two movies, which is a nice touch. It will be interesting to see more footage as the sequel nears completion, especially if we get more proton pack and Ecto Goggle footage.
Earlier in the week, we also got the first realGhostbusters 2020 poster and photos. Jason Reitman saysGhostbusters: Afterlife"connects back to the Manhattan Crossrip of 1984," which was featured in the first installment. “As the family arrives at an old farm, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters,” continues Reitman, who went on to say, “Trevor and Phoebe are about to find out who their grandfather was and whether they’re ready to pick up the proton pack themselves.“Egon Spengleris revealed to be the children’s grandfather in the trailers, which was rumored from the start of the production. Egon was played by the late Harold Ramis in the original movies.
It is believed Jason Reitman will be utilizingunused footage from the first Ghostbusters movieto include Harold Ramis in some capacity. In addition, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts all came back on board to reprise their roles inGhostbusters: Afterlife. Reitman is trying to make a move that stands up to the originals, which is not going to be easy to do. With that being said, the response on social media has been generally positive thus far.
Mckenna Grace stars inGhostbusters: Afterlife, with Carrie Coon playing her mother and Finn Wolfhard as her brother. Paul Rudd is playing a teacher, who has studied the original 1984 event, while Oliver Cooper and Bokeem Woodbine also have roles. Rudd’s character seems to be stunned by seeing the original ghost trap, which he believes to be a replica in the trailers. It is believed that he will help to guide the children on their way to learn about their grandfather and the important work he conducted over 30 years ago. you may check out theGhostbusters: Afterlifeinternational trailer above, thanks to the Sony Pictures New Zealand YouTube channel.
