The director behind theJohn Wickfranchise,Chad Stahelski, will continueto cement his action movie legacy as he is now set to produce the English-language remake of the acclaimed Indian Hindi-language action outingKill. As per a report byDeadline, Stahelski and his production company 87Eleven Entertainment will produce theKillremake for Lionsgate, with theJohn Wickdirector praising the original as “one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies” he’s seen.

In a joint statement, the producers behind the original, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta for Dharma Productions, and Guneet Monga Kapoor & Achin Jain from Sikhya Entertainment, called the news a “big win for Indian cinema.”

Alongside the remake, the original has now been picked up by Lionsgate for release in North America and the United Kingdom, which marks the first time a Hollywood studio has acquireda Hindi-language moviefor release in the United States.
The originalKillwill land in theaters in the U.S. on July 22, 2025.
