Stranger Thingsseason 4 breakoutJoseph Quinnis grabbing eyeballs everywhere he goes, even at the airport.Joseph Quinnwas on his way to guest star onThe Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallonwhen he had an odd encounter with U.S. Immigration at the airport. In a routine check, the officials recognized him fromStranger Thingsand demanded that he return for the next season.
Joseph Quinn played the Hawkins outcast Eddie Munson in the latest season of Netflix’sStranger Things, instantly taking over the fandom with his powerful performance. Quinn had no idea just how recognizable and adored he had become, but he’s finding out lately.

Quinn appeared onThe Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the clips of which you can check out below. The British actor recalled the fun little incident on the talkshow.
“I very nearly didn’t make it. I was taken into, I guess what you could call it, was more of a dungeon. And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, Sir?’ Well I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Tonight Show.’ And he didn’t believe me. And one of his colleagues looked over at me, looked at him, and said: ‘Leave Eddie alone.’”
“And then [the colleague] said, ‘It’s Eddie from Stranger Things,’ and he was like, ‘You’re Eddie Munson?'”
When Quinn confirmed his identity, the officer only had one question for him that probably everyone has been meaning to ask and already knows the answer to but is just too sad to accept: “Do you come back next season?” “I don’t know,” replied Quinn, to which the officer asserted, “You better,” and handed him his passport.
As much as everyone wants to see Eddie return, it’s unlikely to happen as he succumbed to his injuries in theStranger Thingsseason 4 finale. Eddie had developed a reputation for running away from problems but decided to stand up when it really mattered anddied trying to save his friends. Maybe Eddie could return in a flashback sequence, but the chances of him actually surviving look bleak. But you never know with sci-fi. Anything can happen.
