The cult classic horror-comedy movieKiller Klowns from Outer Spacehas gotten the video game treatment. Released back in 1988,Killer Klowns from Outer Spacehas garnered a rather large cult following among the horror community, but even so, it remains one of those classics that has never had a sequel or a reboot. Now, the film is getting a revival in a different medium with the announcement ofKiller Klowns from Outer Space: The Game.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Gameserves as an asymmetrical multiplayer game, pitting one team of humans against another team of Klowns. Developed by Teravision Games, the game will be published by Good Shepherd Entertainment in early 2023 on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game Arrives in Early 2023
The video game will give players the ability to choose between human survivors and Killer Klowns. You can take on the role of the Klowns themselves, cooperating as a team of three players, utilizing “outlandish abilities” and zany weapons featured in the movie to hunt down humans. The goal will be to successfully harvest the population of Crescent Cove.
Meanwhile, a team of seven human players must band together as Crescent Cove citizens, searching for valuable items and weapons to avoid getting captured by Klowns and converted into cotton candy cocoons. Humans will also have the abillity to sabotage the alien invasion by fighting back. Different stereotypes will be available as the human characters, including bikers, cops, teens, and rednecks.
The developers also promise a “sprawling arena” for the 3v7 fights between the Klowns and the humans, featuring various locations that are randomly generated to create a multitude of tactical opportunities. It’s teased that they’ve taken a “unique approach to hide-and-seek gameplay, customization, respawn items, PvPvE, and dynamic objections leading to multiple match results.”
