WhenKung Fu Panda 3debuts next January, the highly-anticipatedStar Wars: The Force Awakenswill most likely still be in theaters. Today,DreamWorks Animationdebuted a new trailer forKung Fu Panda 3, which pokes some fun at theStar Warsfranchise, mocking the iconic villain Darth Vader. This sequel features Po, voiced byJack Black, meeting his long-lost father Li, voiced byBryan Cranston, but as we can see in this trailer, Li isn’t in the best physical shape.
In 2016, one of the most successful animated franchises in the world returns with its biggest comedy adventure yet,Kung Fu Panda 3. When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when thesupernatural villainKai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas.

This video comes just a month after we sawconcept artof Panda Village, where Li and hundreds of pandas have been living in secret for years. ThisKung Fu Pandasequel is directed byJennifer Yuh Nelson, who also helmed the worldwide hitKung Fu Panda 2, and features a script by series writersJonathan AibelandGlenn Berger. Thisanimated moviesequel will go up against Disney’sThe Finest Hourson June 18, 2025.
