Netflix’sThe Witcherwas dealt a heavy blow when it lost Henry Cavill after Season 3. But, the show is bouncing back for its final two seasons. Alongside Liam Hemsworth taking over from Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, the series also securedThe Matrixstar,Laurence Fishburne, to play a major character in the final two seasons: the higher vampire, Regis. Fans of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels have been excited to see Fishburne bring Regis to life since his casting was announced, and we now have our best look at the actor in costume.
The set photos were leaked via Redanian Intelligence. Production is currently underway on Season 5 ofThe Witcherin England, and we’ve already been treated to some photos ofLiam Hemsworth and Joey Batey in costumeas Geralt and Jaskier, respectively. But, this is the best look fans have received of Fishburne’s new addition. The actor is in full costume and make-up as Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, better known as Regis by fans. Fishburne sports a fancy leather jerkin with a long overcoat and long leather gloves, which are very similar to Regis' own dress-sense from Sapkowski’s novels. He also has the vampire’s signature sideburns.

Also in the photo is Meng’er Zhang, who plays Milva in the series. The fan-favorite character and new ally of Geralt’s was introduced at the end of Season 3, acting as a guide for Geralt and his party on their mission to save Ciri. In the image, both Fishburne and Zhang are soaking wet. This could simply mean it is raining in the scene they are filming, or they could be filming the Battle for the Bridge on the Yaruga from the fifth book in the series,Baptism of Fire. While that is unlikely, given the pair are currently filming for the show’s fifth and final season, Netflix has to squeeze three large books into just two seasons of TV, so some chronology has likely been altered and shifted.

The new leaked photo is the clearest image we have of Regis because he hasn’t officially been introduced in the show yet.Laurence Fishburne will make hisWitcherdebutin the upcoming fourth season. A release date for Season 4 hasn’t been announced yet, but it is expected to be released either in late 2025, or early 2026.
For those who haven’t read the novels or playedThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntvideo game by CD Projekt Red, Regis is a higher vampire, one of the most powerful creatures on the continent (and potentially far stronger than Geralt). Unlike most other higher vampires, who assimilate into cities to feed on people, Regis has sworn off human blood after centuries of addiction. He quickly becomes one of Geralt’s most trusted allies on the mission to find Ciri.
