Ever since production got under way onWolverine 3last month, we’ve seen a number ofset photos, including a batch from last weekend with starHugh Jackmanand a young actress many believe is the mutant clone X-23. In the background of those photos, we could see a limousine that has been riddled with numerous bullet holes, which appeared to be parked outside of a hotel. Today we have even more images from the set, which give us a closer look at this limo, and reveal that Logan himself was behind the wheel, presumably trying to escape from a massive gunfight.
These photos fromJust Jaredwere taken yesterday afternoon in New Orleans, which also give us a closer look atHugh Jackmanhimself, who appears to be unscathed from the shootout. Unfortunately, these photos don’t feature the unidentified young girl we saw in the previous photos, and it remains to be seen if she will eventually be confirmed as X-23. Hopefully we’ll get to see more of this mystery character as production continues.
It has already been confirmed thatWolverine 3will beR-rated, but the studio has yet to confirm an official title. Just a few days ago, a report surfaced that claimed 20th Century Fox had registered two variations of the title,Wolverine: Weapon Xand justWeapon X. The studio has not confirmed what the title will be quite yet, but hopefully we’ll find out more as production continues.
TheWeapon Xtitle would make sense, especially considering how it may tie in to last month’sX-Men: Apocalypse. That movie featured a brief appearance fromHugh Jackman’s Wolverine at the Weapon X facility at Alkali Lake, where he was unleashed and started taking out numerous soldiers. There is also a post credit scene from that movie that could very well tie intoWolverine 3, if the latest rumors are to be believed.
The post credit scene featured an unidentified man stepping over the bodies of all the men Wolverine took out at Alkali Lake. While we never see his face, this character takes a vial of blood labeled Wolverine, which many suspect will be used to create the mutantX-23.
