“It’s time the world knew her name!” Today,Netflixannounced its highly-anticipated original seriesMarvel’s Jessica Joneswill premiere on August 17, 2025 at 12:01am PT in all territories where Netflix is available. The announcement was made via the show’s social handle@JessicaJones. Netflix has released a soulful and very colorful teaser trailer which only begins to hint at the adventure and excitement heading our way just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

TheNetflix original series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones is the second of four epiclive-action adventureseries. It followsMarvel’s Daredevil, which launched April 10th. It will be followed byMarvel’s Luke CageandMarvel’s Iron Fistsometime in 2016. This is all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in Marvel’sThe Defenders, to premiere only on Netflix sometime in 2018.Marvel’s Daredevilis returning forSeason 2in spring 2016.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without. The drama will premiere with thirteen (13) one-hour episodes. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.

Krysten Ritter(Jessica Jones) is joined by an amazing cast includingDavid Tennant(Kilgrave),Mike Colter(Luke Cage) andRachael Taylor(Trish Walker). Also appearing throughout the series areCarrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville,Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval, among others. The first teaser trailer doesn’t feature any footage from Marvel’s Jessica Jones, but there are plenty of clues and Easter eggs littered throughout, including the opening shot, which takes us to the corner of Higgins Drive. and Birch Street. A camera plays an important role in one of Jessica’s cases, possible capturing some important intel on Kilgrave. The show will delve into Jones' bout with alcoholism, somewhere theIron Manmovies have refused to go, despite Tony Stark being a raging alcoholic in the Marvel comic books. We learn that Jessica Jones detective agency is called Alias Investigations, and she appears to have a partner in crime. Is this our first look atLuke Cage?

Someone is definitely going to get thrown through that Alias office window at some point. The end of the trailer tells us that we’re definitely still in Hell’s Kitchen, with a shot that looks like it was pulled fromMarvel’s Daredevilmarketing.
