Hollywood is in an interesting transition period where it’s trying to create more strong roles for woman. Sometimes it works, as we saw with Daisy Ridley’s Rey taking the lead inStar Wars: The Force Awakens. And sometimes it’s detested, with the all-female reboot ofGhostbustersbeing hated upon by the masses. In fact, the newGhostbustershas the lowest rated trailer of all-time on Youtube. And that’s no small feat. The trend shows no sign of stopping though, with a Princess taking over the role ofThe Mummyin Universal’s upcoming reboot and a number of female centric superhero movies on the way from both Marvel and DC. Now,Megan Foxhas an idea on how to reboot theIndiana Jonesfranchise after directorSteven Spielbergand starIndiana Jonesget done withIndiana Jones 5in 2019. Yes, she wants to play the legendary archeologist.

Speaking withGameSpot.com,Megan Fox, who will next be seen reprising her role as April O’Neil in this summer’sTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, is much more interested in taking on the role of Henry Jones Jr. than his own female counterpart Lara Croft. We’re not sure ifFoxwas ever considered for the role of Croft in the upcomingTomb Raider reboot, but it was announced last week thatAlicia Vikanderhas secured that role. About rebootingIndiana Jonesas a female, she has this to say.

“I’ve always wanted to do Tomb Raider, but it’s been done–and very well. So I guess I’d go with Indiana Jones, since I always loved how fun and free-spirited Indiana is. He’s an adventurous roguearchaeologistwho barely escapes death chasing down treasures among the earth’s most mysterious sites. What’s not to love?”

Along with her role as April O’Neil inNinja Turtles,Megan Foxis probably more famous for her lead role in the first twoTransformersmovies. And there has long been the question of whether or not she will ever return for another sequel.Michael Bayinfamously hadMegan Foxreplaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley inTransformers 3after the actress compared him to Hitler. The two later made-up, as evident by the actress taking the human lead in theTMNTmovies produced byBay.

Thus far,Indiana Joneshas only been played by a male actor.Harrison Fordfirst introduced the character in 1981’sRaiders of the Lost Ark. He would go onto star in three more sequels, and will makeIndiana Jones 5in 2019.River Phoenixplayed a young Indiana Jones inThe Last Crusade. And Sean Patrick Flanery played the character in theYoung Indiana JonesTV series. But this isn’t the first time the idea of a female Indiana Jones has been floated.

Anna KednrickplayedIndianna Jonesin a sketch for NBC’s Red Nose Day special, which went onto become a viral sensation. Though, it was only a joke. It’s unclear how fans would actually respond toIndiana Jonesbeing recast as a woman. As things are currently progressing, it could happen. Especially if a movie likeGhostbustersactually turns out to be a hit. Though, many suspect it could be the biggest bomb of the summer. As many detractors like to point out,Ghostbustersfaults do not lie within the concept of female ghost hunters alone. They claim it simply looks like an atrocious movie with bad jokes. Even if Disney did want to gender swap the character, it won’t happen for quite a few years. In the mean time, you can take a look at this Indianna Jones and the Last Crusade skit to get an idea of how this might actually work.
