From one Oscar winner to another, Freeman appeared ina video spoof of Kidman’s viral ad, flipping the purpose to suit the occasion. In the video, Freeman is seen mirroring Kidman’s original entrance into a cinema, before taking his seat and watching in awe at the images on the big screen. Freeman then appeared on stage to pay a personal tribute to Kidman, and while speaking about the actress, he noted that he knows exactly what it is like to have the honor of sitting in the chair and receiving the “highest honor for a career in film.” He ended with a little serenade from one of Kidman’s best movies, which he cited as one of his favorites of all time.

“I’m here to say that I sat in that chair and I know exactly what’s going through your mind. You’re thinking the American Film Institute? The highest honor for a career in film? ME?? You’re also thinking that you can smile…f*cking-A. We’re here to prove it. Now let’s get started. Because Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite films of all-time.
