Nikki Rodriguezportrays the protagonist, Jackie Howard. Jackie is a 15-year-old Manhattanite whose life is abruptly upended when her parents die in a car crash. Left as an orphan with very few options or extended family, Jackie is adopted by the Walter family and promptly relocates to Silver Falls, Colorado. Apart from grappling with her sense of loss, Nikki’s plans to ace her AP courses and attend Princeton are suddenly interrupted, forcing her to navigate a new life path.

Noah LaLondeplays Cole Walter in the show. Cole is the 17-year-old adoptive brother of Jackie and the second eldest Walter sibling. 8Connor Stanhope as 17-Year-Old Danny Walter
Connor Stanhopeportrays Danny Walter. Danny is the 17-year-old twin brother of Cole Walter, although they do not look alike. Almost by design, Danny’s personality is also the exact opposite of Cole’s as well.
