TheFear Streetfilm trilogy is widely regarded as one of the best horror thriller franchises in recent memory, and fans can now look forward to a fourth installment titledFear Street: Prom Queen, whichis set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. All three prior movies in the series were released on the platform in July 2021, with each one coming out in the subsequent weeks. Following the release ofFear Street Part Three: 1666, director Leigh Janiak expressed interest in continuing the story, apparently wanting to create a slasher film thattakes place during the 1980s. By November 2023,Netflix’s Head of Film, Scott Stuber, confirmed that it would be a standalone movie rather than the continuation of the prequel events.
In the third film, evil was seemingly vanquished thanks to the continued efforts of Sarah Fier (Kiana Madeira), Ziggy (Gillian Jacobs), and Hannah (Olivia Scott Welch), but the finale suggests otherwise. When the credits roll on the screen, a mysterious figure grabs the cursed book, implying that someone else is aware of its existence and intends to use it for sinister purposes.

Though it was mentioned that the fourth installment would be a standalone film, this doesn’t necessarily mean the setup at the conclusion ofFear Street Part Three: 1666will go completely untapped. Instead, we would be viewing the story from the perspective of other characters, which is backed by the fact thatnew cast members are being introduced for the sequel.
A large part aboutFear Street: Prom Queenis already known, with Netflix unveiling some of the cast members that will lead the franchise’s next chapter. India Fowler, well-known for her previous roles inThe NeversandInsomnia, will join the primary cast alongside Suzanna Son (Red Rocket), Fina Strazza (Paper Girls), David Lacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Chris Klein (American Pie), Lili Taylor (Manhunt), Katherine Waterston (The End We Start From), and Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War).

TheFear Streetfilms are theperfect combination of horror and slasher, particularly the second film,Fear Street Part Two: 1978, in which a killer goes on a rampage at Camp Nightwing, turning the fun summer camp into survival mayhem. Similarly, the fourth picture will be an entertaining horror slasher, especially considering thepremise that hints at the disappearance of Shadyside High School students.
