Bohemian Rhapsodytook home Golden Globes for Best Drama and Best Drama Actor, but nobody mentioned director Bryan Singer during their acceptance speech. While Rami Malek and the rest of the cast and crew of the biopic never mentioned Singer’s name, social media did, and found it ironic that a movie that Singer directed ended up winning top honors in the era of #MeToo and Time’s Up movements. Charlie’s Angelsis a continuation of the rebooted 2000 franchise with new lead stars and a girl power on steroids theme. This #MeToo era incarnation from writer/director Elizabeth Banks retreads the same plot points, but is decidedly more aggressive. The new trio of Angels ramp up the beatdowns and body count of bad men with casual flair. They lack the chemistry of their predecessors with uneven performances. Big action scenes add a few fun moments, but not enough to distinguish the film....

DC comicseditor Eddie Berganza’s reputation for sexual misconduct has begun to resurface thanks to a new article from Buzzfeed, who seem to have stepped up their journalism game in recent months. If there is someone to blame for theDeadpool 3delay, it’s Marvel Studios. This, according to Rob Liefeld, who co-created the Merc With a Mouth for Marvel Comics. It has seemed like Disney and Marvel are committed to keeping Ryan Reynolds on board as Deadpool following the merger with Fox last year, but there has been little to no official movement on another movie since the deal was finalized. As Liefeld tells it, this is squarely on Marvel’s shoulders....

It has been announced thatHelen Slayton-Hughes, best known for her unforgettable role as Ethel Beavers in the hit comedy seriesParks and Recreation, has passed away. The news comes from theFacebook pagefor the actress which includes a video tribute along with a statement addressing Slayton-Hughes' death. She was 92 years old. “To the friends and fans of our beloved Helen,” reads the statement. “Helen passed away last night. Her pain has ended but her fierce spirit lives on....

AHellraiser remakeis coming from Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group, withThe Dark Knightscribe David S. Goyer penning the script. Planned for worldwide theatrical distribution, the project will be completely funded and fast tracked by Spyglass, making it the first project for the company since its re-launch. Chris Stone will be overseeing the project, with Keith Levine andDavid S. Goyerserving as producers.
