The time is nearly upon us and the long-awaitedPower Rangersreboot is just around the corner. While the movie may be just a couple of weeks away, the studio still had time to give us one final trailer to build more hype for the upcomingPower Rangers moviethat seems to have fans very excited. Is the movie any good? We don’t know yet, but the trailers have been fun and here is yet another one for you to feast your eyes on before you go go to the theater later this month to relive your childhood.
Lionsgatedecided to release this new (and likely final) trailer forPower Rangersjust two weeks ahead of the release. That doesn’t happen very often, but the studio seemed to feel they could benefit from a last minute marketing push and by giving fans some more footage to chew on. It seems like many of those who havenostalgic feelingsfor thePower Rangersare already sold on this reboot, but there may be quite a few people who are on the fence and with a lot of movies hitting theaters this month, this could help sway them.
“Saban’sPower Rangersfollows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town ofAngel Grove, and the world, is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.”
Even ifPower Rangersis great, it will be facing some insanely stiff competition at the box office this month.Loganwas just released and has been raking in the cash by the clawful.Kong: Skull Islandlooks like it is also going to do well over the next couple of weeks, largely thanks to positive reviews. As if that isn’t enough, the real competition will be coming in the form of Disney’sBeauty and the Beast, which is set for release on March 17. That is just a week beforePower Rangersis set to debut.Beauty and the Beastis tracking for a massive opening weekend and knowing Disney, it will probably be killing it for several weeks after the release. On top of all that, the R-ratedChipsreboot and the sci-fi flickLifeare coming out the same weekend asPower Rangersand it could be very tough for Lionsgate to make the money they are hoping for, especially considering it was recently reported that the movie is carrying a $105 million production budget.
