Predatorfans may have something new to be excited about. Streaming giant Hulu is creating a TV show based on the beloved science-fiction horror franchise. The news was reportedly confirmed by an inside source for the entertainment website Giant Freaking Robot, but this rumor has not been officially verified byHuluat this time.

According to the previously mentioned source, thePredatorseries is still in the development phase. Consumers will likely have to wait a while for a release date for the project.Predatoris not the only 20th Century property to have a TV show in the works. For the FX channel, anAlienseries is being worked on byFargoandLegionshow runner Noah Hawley. With the aforementioned TV shows, Hawley has proven himself as one of the best show runners in the entertainment industry. TheAlienshow sets itself apart from the films by taking place on earth. The television project is expected to arrive sometime in 2023. However, there is a possibility for the series to be delayed.

Predator

Given that theAlienandPredatorfranchiseshave already crossed over on the big screen, potential exists for the small screen projects to do the same.Alien vs. Predatorwas not a huge box office success and received very poor critical reception. The sequelAlien vs. Predator: Requiemreceived even worse reviews. Hopefully, a possible TV meeting between the two lethal alien species could do better. Keep in mind that a crossover between the franchises is just speculation. With both intellectual properties being owned by the same company, there is a chance at an intertwining.

APredatorshow is not the only upcoming project in the franchise.Prey,a movie prequel set 300 years in the past, is expected to come to Hulu sometime in the summer of 2022. That motion picture will tell the story of Naru, a warrior who tries to protect her tribe from the alien hunters. There will be no theatrical release, instead premiering on the same streaming service that the tv show will debut on. With the middling response to the sequels, a unique premise could be just what the IP needs. It is currently unknown if the tv show will have the same characters as the upcoming big screen title. The film opens the door for telling new stories at different points in time in the series.

In the age of franchises drawing the biggest crowds, it is smart to create shows based on beloved intellectual properties.Predatorcould prove to be just as popular on the small screen as it has been on the big screen.
