‘Invincible’s Is One of Prime Video’s Biggest Hits
Invincibleis an adult-animated superhero series created and written by Robert Kirkman, based on his comic series. The plot centers on Mark Grayson, a prototypical American teenager whose life changes dramatically on his 17th birthday. When Mark turns 17, he suddenly gains superpowers from his father, granting him superhuman strength, speed, durability, stamina, flight, and a raging temper. Confused, Mark tries to reconcile his newfound superpowers with his ordinary adolescent life.
Mark’s father is Nolan Grayson, alsoknown as Omni-Man, the world’s once-greatest superhero who has since faced public disgrace. Omni-Man comes from the planet Viltrum, whose alien race desires universal conquest. Due to his half-human, half-Viltrumite DNA, Mark must harness the light, suppress the dark within his biological makeup, and protect the world from the Viltrumite Empire.

Complicating matters is Omni-Man’s brutal murder of The Guardians of the Globe, Earth’s top-tier superhero team. With loyalties torn between his father and The Guardians, Invincible has a serious moral quandary to consider. This main conflict has increased its focus in each passing season, inevitably setting upGuarding the Globeas an obvious and necessary TV spin-off.
The ‘Guarding the Globe Comic’
Conceived as a spin-off ofInvincible, Guarding the Globeis a 12-issue comic series published between August 2010 and February 2013. The Robert Kirkman-created comic follows Brit, a supporting character who will reportedly be voiced by Doug Bradley and introducedinInvincibleSeason 3. The plot revolves around Brit’s attempt to form a new team, with the story divided into two parts. In Part 1, “Under Siege,” Brit doggedly rounds up a new Guardians of the Globe team after Mark flees Earth to fight in The Viltrumite War. Brit assembles a fresh-faced superhero unit to take on The Order, a never-before-seen supervillain clan threatening Earth’s population.
Part 2, “Hard to Kill,” concerns Brit dispatching the new Guardians of the Globe members globally to fight various crimes as he manages crises at home. Meanwhile, a vengeful Mauler twin returns following his brother’s death and vows to copy and spread his DNA across the globe. Further tying into the potential spin-off is Oliver Grayson,Mark’s younger brother, who harbors both the benevolent Thraxan and malevolent Viltrumite DNA. Once Oliver’s Season 3 arc wraps up inInvincible, the foundation is laid to seamlessly transition toGuarding the Globein a no-brainer TV spin-off.

Why ‘Guarding the Globe’ Is a No-Brainer Spin-off
So far,InvincibleTV fans know almost nothing about Brit. While he may be set to take a larger role in Season 3, one of Brit’s comic storylines was given to Donald Ferguson (Chris Diamantopoulos) inInvincibleSeason 2. The storyline involved Donald learning he was a secret android.
While some fans lamented the lack of Brit’s inclusion and worried legal rights issues would prevent spin-off and crossover characters from appearing inInvincible, replacing him with nondescript Global Defense Agency (GDA) ops, Brit’s potential Season 3 addition could assuage such concerns. Moreover, landing abig-name actor likeHellraiser’s Doug Bradleyto voice Brit for a throwaway cameo makes little sense. Instead, building a spin-off around Bradley’s presence in aGuarding the Globespin-off is the way to go.

Omni-Man vs Homelander: Which Evil Superman Is Stronger?
For Omni-Man and Homelander, great power comes with great irresponsibility. These “Evil Supermen” are tough, but which is stronger?
Of course, the most compelling reason to adaptGuarding the Globenext is the relationship between Brit, Mark, Oliver, Nolan, and Cecil Stedman (Walton Goggins). As The Order and the surviving Mauler continue to wreak havoc on Earth, advancing The Viltrumite Empire, it’s up to Mark and Brit to join forces and restore the Guardians’ reputational luster.

With the story already laid out, plotted, and published, there’s every reason in the universe for Prime Video to adaptGuarding the Globeas an adult-animatedInvinciblespin-off. The spin-off would seamlessly continue Mark’s quest to avenge his father’s grave mistake, enable a new crop of Guardians to advance their mission, and shift the narrative focus to Brit.InvincibleSeason 3 is streaming now onPrime Video.
