After some rumor and speculation, it has now been confirmed that Gyllenhaal will reunite withThe CovenantdirectorGuy RitchieforRoad House 2, with Will Beall (Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F) writing the script.
As per a report by Deadline, plot details forRoad House 2are currently being kept under wraps, with Ritchie taking over the reins for the action franchise from the first outing’sDoug Liman following the latter’s frustration with Amazonskipping theaters and debuting the movie on their streaming platform Prime Video. It is not yet known whether the sequel will do the same or hit the big screen.

The action movie attracted a record-breaking 50 million worldwide viewers over its first two weekends which, according to the studio, making Road House the “most-watched produced film debut ever on a worldwide basis.”
