Earlier today, directorBryan Singersent out a new photo from hisInstagrampage, offering a new look atJames McAvoy’s Professor X, while teasing that he has almost finished work on the trailer. The image features Professor X wearing the iconicCerebrohelmet, with an unidentified character standing behind him.
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant fromMarvel’sX-Menuniverse, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

It isn’t known how many of these characters will be revealed in the firstX-Men: Apocalypse trailerarriving sometime next month.

Last week, a report surfaced thatBryan Singerwill be returning to Montreal, where he shot bothX-Men: Days of Future PastandX-Men: Apocalypse, for an untitled X-Men project. 20th Century Fox has yet to confirm this news, but the report claims that the studio has secured studio space for a 2017 shoot, with a 2018 release being tentatively planned.
