Recently, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill posted to Twitter to ask his followers, “miss me?” In response, theofficialStar Warsaccountdirectly referenced a memorable quote from Tommy Wiseau’s character inThe Roomby stating the phrase, “Oh hi, Mark.” This captured the attention of Wiseau, who also quotedThe Roomwhile asking to join theStar Warsuniverse.
“YOU’RE TEARING ME APARTStar Wars! Put me in your Universe!” the eccentric filmmaker tweeted.

It didn’t stop there.Wonder Womanactress Lynda Carter got involved by paraphrasing the “tearing me apart” quote to more accurately reflectStar Warscanon by tweeting, “You’re tearing me apart, Leia!” That had Wiseau then saying that they should all get started right away collaborating on the nextStar Warsfilm by writing, “Let’s make a movie!”
For those who haven’t seen the movie,The Roomis an independent drama film released in 2003 and written, produced, executive produced, directed by, and starringTommy Wiseau. It tells the story of a love triangle involving Wiseau’s character, Johnny, and his best friend Mark (Greg Sestero) and fiancee Lisa (Juliette Danielle). At one point in the movie, Lisa falsely accuses Johnny of abuse, prompting him to retreat to the rooftop of his apartment building in anger. After lamenting how he did not hit Lisa, he happens to notice his friend Mark sitting nearby, prompting the often-quoted phrase, “Oh hi, Mark.”
The film’s memorable dialogue is one big reason why it has achieved cult status, with fans everywhere continuing to watch screenings ofThe Roomevery year. Another quote that was referenced multiple times in theStar Warsexchange comes when Johnny is arguing with Lisa about their relationship going sour. Frustrated, Wiseau’s Johnny clenches his fists and screams, “You’re tearing me apart, Lisa!”

The Making of The Room Has Been Made Into a Movie
Mark actor Greg Sestero published a memoir detailing his recollections of makingThe Room. This book led to the development of the 2017 filmThe Disaster Artist, which featured James Franco as Wiseau and Dave Franco co-starring as Sestero. Also directed by James Franco and written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the film was widely acclaimed upon its release. Franco won the award for Best Actor at the Golden Globes and the script was up for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Academy Awards.
Wiseau and Sestero have since reunited for the dark comedy filmBest F(r)iendsas co-stars; Sestero wrote and produced with Justin MacGregor directing the 2017 film. Wiseau also got back behind the camera as the director of the upcoming giant shark movieBig Sharkwhich features Wiseau in a lead role alongside Sestero and Isaiah LaBorde. The trio also penned the screenplay. It’s unclear when exactly the movie will be released, but it sounds like it’s a must-see for any fan ofThe Room.
