TheStranger Thingsseason 4 episode count and production start has been revealed. Netflix and the Duffer Brothers recently announced that the fourth season was on the way with an ominous teaser. The mega successful series is expected to begin production in January and shoot through August, which means fans hoping for a summer 2020 release are likely out of luck. The Duffer Brothers enjoy the luxury of taking their time to get things right, as evidenced by season 3, which fans loved just as much as the previous seasons. Some even go as far as to claim that it’s better than season 2.
Stranger Thingsseason 4 will consist of 8 episodes, which puts it on par with seasons 1 and 3. Season 2 is the only outlier thus far, with 9 episodes. Not much is clear about the upcoming season, except for the clue that was left in the teaser, which states: “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” This makes sense because the Byers family moved away with Eleven and also teases the Russian mystery. Is that Hopper alive in Russia?
Fans are hoping thatChief Hopperis alive and somewhat well after the events ofStranger Thingsseason 3. Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown was “pissed off” when she read the script for the first time and learned about Hopper’s supposed death and theByers family leaving Hawkins. Brown and fans couldn’t believe they were moving away from Hawkins, but this will help the Duffer Brothers tell a new story with interesting twists. We know that the gang will more than likely meet up again, but it just won’t be exactly how they have in the past.
While appearing onSaturday Night Live, David Harbour jokingly addressed the Hopper situation during his opening monologue.SNLcast member Pete Davidson asks him if the character is dead, to which Harbour responds, “Er… no. I mean, I’m not exactly authorized… Just watch the show. You’ll find out next season.“Stranger Thingsseason 3 left fans with a pretty big cliffhanger in regard to the Hopper mystery, especially when the Russians refer to the mystery character as “the American.” Regardless, we’re going to have to wait quite a while before we get all of the answers, or at least until Harbour is spotted on the set.
As for whenStranger Thingsseason 4 will premiere onNetflix, that could happen as early as Christmas 2020, or early 2021. The show relies on a lot of special effects, so it could be an even longer wait than fans want. The Duffer Brothers do like to take their time, so it would not be out of the question to see the show returning during summer 2021. Whatever the case may be, we at least know that production will start in the near future.TVLinewas the first to report on theStranger Thingsseason 4 episode count and production start time.
