Some advertisers and studios were kind enough to release theirSuper Bowlads online a bit early this year, but not Netflix. They know that fans are dying for their first look atStranger Thingsseason 2 and they were perfectly happy to make everyone wait until the big day for the video to make its way online. Fortunately for fans, that day is here and Netflix has finally released the first teaser forStranger Thingsseason 2 for the world to see.

Prior to the release of this first teaser,Netflixhad been pretty skimpy with the promotional materials for the new season ofStranger Things. The series was easily one of the biggest new shows of 2016 and Netflix knew they had a monster of a hit on their hands, so they immediately started moving ahead withStranger Thingsseason 2. Now, we finally have our first video that gives us a look at the upcoming season of the binge-worthy, sci-fi series. If the anticipation fornew episodes of Stranger Thingswas high before, it is at a full-on fever pitch now.

Netflix was kind enough to give fans a little taste of what to expect inStranger Things Season 2prior to releasing this first teaser. A couple of days ago, the streaming service debuted the first photo from the new season via Entertainment Weekly, which features the cast all dressed up as theGhostbustersfor Halloween, and this trailer confirms the new season will debut on Halloween. Since this season ofStranger Thingstakes place in 1984, that seems very fitting and only helped to stir up excitement among fans online. ProducerShawn Levycouldn’t say much about the new season, but he did offer a very cryptic tease about what’s to come. Here is what he had to say.

“The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.”

Stranger ThingsSeason 2 will bring back the rest of the young cast, includingFinn Wolfhard(Mike Wheeler),Millie Bobby Brown(Eleven),Gaten Matarazzo(Dustin Henderson),Caleb McLaughlin(Lucas Sinclair),Natalia Dyer(Nancy Wheeler) andCharlie Heaton(Jonathan Byers). Sadly, everyone’s favorite, sensible best friend Barb (Shannon Purser) will not be returning, since it has been confirmed multiple times that she is most definitely dead. Though, it has been said that her presence, or more accurately lack of presence, will be felt in the new episodes ofStranger Things.

Outside of the younger cast members,Winona Ryderwill also be back as Joyce Byers andDavid Harbourwill also be returning as Sheriff Hopper. Series creatorsMatt DufferandRoss Dufferalso added some very promising new talent in the form ofSadie SinkandDacre Montgomery, who are playing step-siblings named Max and Billy.The GooniesstarSean Astinis playing the manager of the local Radio Shack who is also Joyce’s new boyfriend, withAliensstarPaul Reiserplaying a government official who comes to town to investigate what happened during the first season. Additionally,Linnea Berthelsenis playing Roman, a damaged young woman who is connected to the mysterious events ofStranger Thingsseason 1.
