With production back on track for the highly-anticipated comedy sequelSuper Troopers 2, the cast keeps growing. Today we have word thatEmmanuelle Chriquihas signed on to this long-awaited follow-up, playing Genevieve Aubois, a French/Canadian cultural attaché who is trying to foster relations with the United States. This news comes just two days after we got our first look atRob Lowe’s Guy Le Franc, a former hockey player who serves as the mayor of a Canadian border town near Quebec.
Deadlinehas the news ofEmmanuelle Chriqui’s casting, but it isn’t known how large or small her role is, or if she has any connection toRob Lowe’s Canadian character Guy Le Franc. The originalSuper Trooperswas set in Spurbury, Vermont, a fictional town close to the U.S./Canada border, and it seems that at least part of this sequel is set in Canada. Back in October,Erik Stolhanskeshared the firstset photoas production got under way, with the original plan to have the sequel released sometime this summer.Jay Chandrasekharrevealed in an interview that they were shooting a test segment last fall, and that production will begin in earnest this fall, with shooting now under way in Boston. We’re not sure how long production is supposed to last, or if the Broken Lizard team has a release schedule mapped out yet.

She was last seen on the big screen in last summer’sEntourage, where she reprised her role as Sloan from the original HBO series, and the comedyThe Steps.
