Art the Clown is returning to theaters just in time to spread some horrifying holiday cheer.Terrifier 3will play in select theaters on December 24 and December 25 and will include some bloody bonus features. The theatrical re-release will feature a new intro fromDamien Leone, the writer and director behind theTerrifierflicks andAll Hallow’s Eve, and a sneak peek at the upcoming documentaryArt Attack: The Dissection of Terrifier 3,which is set for release in early 2025.Terrifier 3has already made box office history as the highest-grossing unrated film of all time, grossing over $53 million domestically (against a $2 million budget).

Leone’s holiday-themed cult horror masterpiece picks up five years after the events of the second film, with Art the Clown having mysteriously vanished.Final girl Sienna Shawand her younger brother, Jonathan, are living separately: Sienna is newly residing with family, while Jonathan is away in college. As Christmas nears, Art the Clown returns, resulting in more gruesome murders. In a statement (viaIndieWire), Cineverse Chief Creative Officer Yolanda Macias shared:

What’s Next for Horror Icon Art the Clown?

Critics and audiences loved the Christmas slasher, building excitement for Leone’s upcomingTerrifier 4. The horror flick is now in development and is expected to land in theaters around 2026, when we’ll be able to see the next chapter of the years-long battle between Art the Clown and Sienna.During an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Leone shared that the fourth film would conclude theTerrifierfranchise.

“When I wrote part two, I knew where my story was going to end. So then it just became a matter of building the puzzle blocks to get to that finale. So the ending of part three sets up this insane predicament that [final girl] Sienna is in, and this sort of mission that she has now. That is going to be her primary focus in part four.”

“It’ll be like going back to part one, where he’s on his own again. He’s seemingly mortal. I can’t really get into too much, but I think that it’s a cool full-circle moment for the franchise.”
